Highlights: SUG-TX June 23rd Meeting
The
Sybase Users’ Group of Texas held their June meeting on Tuesday, June 23,
2009. The presentation was part of the “ISUG on the Road with the PowerBuilder
12 Community Technology Preview (CTP)” road show.
Sybase's
very own Dave Fish was the guest speaker along with Sue Dunnell, Sybase Product
Manager for PowerBuilder. Dave’s presentation included a review of the
PowerBuilder road-map, specifically as it relates to PowerBuilder 12 then
discussed the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) for PowerBuilder
Developers. The highlight of the meeting was the opportunity for attendees to
take a test drive of the new PowerBuilder 12 CTP during an extended hands-on*
session. They explored the features of the new IDE, created and deployed
a simple WPF application, and migrated an existing Win32 PowerBuilder
application to WPF.
