Intertech Consulting. The presentation provided an in-depth follow-up to
the recent PowerBuilder 11.5 Road Show.
Don started with a quick
retrospective of the release-defining features of the last few major releases,

4) TechWave Goes Global as
Sybase Adds Multiple Locations to its Annual User Conference
Sybase Responds to Its
Customers, Partners Requests for Regional Events
DUBLIN, CALIF. – FEBRUARY 24,
2009 — Sybase, Inc. (NYSE: SY), the largest enterprise software and services
company exclusively focused on managing and mobilizing information, today
announced that it will host a series of regional TechWave user conferences
worldwide in the second half of 2009.
In today’s economic climate,
many companies, including Sybase customers, are facing restrictions on travel
and non-critical expenditures. In addition, a significant percentage of TechWave
attendees represent countries outside of North America. To help address these
factors, Sybase has decided to move to a global regional conference model and
bring its user conference closer to its customers.
“Sybase is doing what all
tech marketers need to do right now: be nimble, opportunistic, and
change-oriented. IDC research shows that, in general, customers prefer more
intimate, localized events,” said Richard Vancil, Vice President, Executive
Advisory Group, IDC.
“We want to do our utmost to
ensure that customers around the world continue to benefit from attending our
annual TechWave conference. Hence to make it easier for them to attend, we have
decided to take our user conference to them,” said Dr. Raj Nathan, Chief
Marketing Officer at Sybase. “On the heels of the best
quarter and year in our company history, we’re fortunate to be able to take TechWave on the
road.”
Many loyal attendees have
returned year after year for in-depth technical training, networking
activities, inside information on new product developments, tech support, and
face-to-face interaction with Sybase experts, partners and peers.
“As part of our ongoing
commitment to our customer education, we're dedicating additional resources to
bring the training closer to them,” added Dr. Raj Nathan.
Sybase will be hosting a
number of two-day regional events in major cities around the world, throughout
the second half of 2009. These regional events will contain both business and
technical content. For more information on Sybase TechWave, please visit:
