The
ISUG North American PowerBuilder Virtual User Group and mLogica
Present: Carving Up Classic Client/Server Applications for .NET Deployment Using
the New .NET Project Partitioning Feature
The
March 12.1 PowerBuilder EBF contains a new tool and technology that enables you
to overcome deployment issues that might impede .NET migration. You might even
be able to organize your code in a way that enables you to restore RAD
development to its rightful position in PowerBuilder.NET deployment.
Yakov
Werde, member of TeamSybase and a PowerBuilder MVP will walk you though the ins
and outs of the new partitioning feature "by-example". He'll demonstrate the
proper use of the new tool that allows you to configure your deployment
architecture. He'll also show you how to work around issues that might surface
during partitioning. He'll explain how to determine inter-assembly
dependencies, determine if any circular dependencies exist, reorganize your code
object storage scheme to eliminate them, and determine where you will store your
global types

SUG-TX April 26th Meeting
The
Sybase Users' Group of Texas will hold their meeting on Tuesday, April 26,
2011. The topic will be "Improving Performance and Simplifying Administration
on Sybase DBMSs" by Michael Garza of Quest
Software.
Abstract:
When it comes to managing Sybase
database systems, DBAs have been left with few database administration tool
alternatives. And some of those tools such as DBArtisan often cost thousands of
dollars and are out of budget for many DBAs, making it difficult to efficiently
manage common administration tasks and ensure high performance.
Don’t
miss Quest Software’s Sybase Lead Developer for Toad for Sybase, Michael Garza,
discuss the development initiatives behind Toad for Sybase. With several million
users worldwide, the Quest Software Toad Community requested support for Sybase
databases and the Quest team has made that a priority for 2011 with the
introduction of Toad for Sybase, an integrated Sybase database management tool
that improves Sybase performance and simplifies database administration and
performance management.
In this presentation Michael will discuss the
following:
- Simplifying how to view, edit, and modify ASE database
objects
- How to improve performance View and kill currently running
sessions
- Quickly comparing data between one or more servers
- How to
improve productivity by automating repetitive tasks
Speaker
Bio:
Michael Garza is a Software Development Team Lead. He joined
Quest in 2005 as a developer for SQL Litespeed. He brings over 11 years of
experience of development on database tool products and is currently designing
and developing Toad for Sybase.
